The Yarrows are a four-piece from New Jersey, led by brothers Pierce and Matt Backes, and have a sound that's gentle, slightly psychedelic, somewhat folky, and all-around hazy and mellow. The brother thing plus the mellow thing plus the slightly psychedelic thing might make you think of Bedhead. I know I was...a little bit, at least. I'm also reminded of My Morning Jacket, which by default reminds me of Neil Young. But no matter--listen for yourself and enjoy the pleasure that is The Yarrows. Their debut album, Plum, will be released in May.
